St. James Road Methodist Church hosts another ‘New song Cafe’
Taking place every month of the year, ‘New Song Cafe’ welcomes everyone into St. James Road Methodist on a Sunday evening to worship with a live band, eat and drink refreshments, and take part in a time of reflection (speaker, video, or prayer).
Some fantastic modern worship songs are played, including ones that are new and those that are familiar, all performed by a worship team.
Oliver Hack - Musical Director for New Song Cafe Southampton said: “What a great evening it was! New Song Cafe started just over 6 years ago and it is incredible to see how much it has developed in that time with last night being yet another wonderful evening of worship. Since the September event lead by the Riverside Family Church band I have heard inspirational stories of how much the service has moved individuals in varying stages of their faith and who cannot wait for the next one. I even learnt that some teens (without faith) walked in off the streets to see what all the fuss was about and clearly looked to be enjoying church for the first time! There seems to be a real buzz around New Song Cafe currently which has been a blessing since reopening after the lockdowns. We can't wait to worship again in full voice next month with our house band and really look forward to seeing God's hand at work in the service as it continues to grow in both presence and spirit.”
Neil Maddock, director of Martis Productions who led the worship at the September event said: “the event went really well and there was a good crowd of people who came along to worship together. It was a real privilege to be involved and to be invited to lead people in worshipping God, and to be able to introduce some new songs.”
