Love Southampton organises Friendship Festival for Hong Kongers…
In what was the first event that Love Southampton put on under its own steam since its relaunch in early 2022, we coordinated and delivered ‘(another) Friendship Festival’ to follow on from the successful first ‘Friendship Festival’ that Paul Woodman organised at Oasis academy, back in May of this year.

t was great to see the Love Southampton monthly newsletter printed out and on the information table at a church that we visited recently. Since coming out our of dormant state in February, Love Southampton has really tried to proactively engage with the churches in the City to support the recording and promoting of the work being done within Southampton’s communities.

SVC brave rain to deliver community event in Bitterne Park
Southampton Vineyard Church are based in Bitterne Park Triangle and organised a Community Fun Day at Riverside Park on 15th May to offer a chance for the local community to gather together, have some fun and find some joy, especially important after the challenges of the last couple of years. The event was free to all including use of inflatables, facepainting and crafts.

PEOPLE from Southampton who live, work or run businesses in the city are being asked to express their views on how it can become a Mental Health Friendly City (March 2021).
This year’s Churches Winter Beds scheme comes to an end
A WINTER BED SCHEME for people sleeping rough in Southampton has come to an end today, Monday 1st March.
Paul Woodman, from Street Support Southampton and Love Southampton’s executive board, helped organise the offer following the success of last winter’s beds across seven local churches.

Giving Thanks launched as part of Mayflower 400
LAUNCHED ON Thanksgiving Day 2020, Giving Thanks is a new campaign to create digital memories that bring the people of Southampton together in a shared celebration of our city and our communities. It is delivered as part of the on-going city-wide Mayflower 400 programme and aims to not just mark the anniversary, but to bring people together as best we can in these days of social isolation, through generating an understanding of difference and encouraging an attitude of gratitude.

Relaunch of the Churches Rent Deposit Scheme - World Homeless Day
A fund to support people at risk of homelessness has been relaunched on the 10th anniversary of World Homeless Day.
