Southampton City Council are hosting a series of networking events in East, West and Central localities to bring partners, colleagues and providers together to strengthen working relationships.

Cafe Revive is a new initiative just launched out of Colne Avenue Baptist Church in Millbrook.

With no apparent end in sight to the cost-of-living crisis, and energy prices due to rise even further in the Autumn, Southampton City Council and Love Southampton will be hosting a Cost-of-Living Summit in October.

In what was the first event that Love Southampton put on under its own steam since its relaunch in early 2022, we coordinated and delivered ‘(another) Friendship Festival’ to follow on from the successful first ‘Friendship Festival’ that Paul Woodman organised at Oasis academy, back in May of this year.

t was great to see the Love Southampton monthly newsletter printed out and on the information table at a church that we visited recently. Since coming out our of dormant state in February, Love Southampton has really tried to proactively engage with the churches in the City to support the recording and promoting of the work being done within Southampton’s communities.

CLEAR are urgently looking for a full time (job share considered!) Advice and Support Worker to provide wraparound support for people who've arrived in Southampton under the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

Southampton Vineyard Church are based in Bitterne Park Triangle and organised a Community Fun Day at Riverside Park on 15th May to offer a chance for the local community to gather together, have some fun and find some joy, especially important after the challenges of the last couple of years. The event was free to all including use of inflatables, facepainting and crafts.

PEOPLE from Southampton who live, work or run businesses in the city are being asked to express their views on how it can become a Mental Health Friendly City (March 2021).

A WINTER BED SCHEME for people sleeping rough in Southampton has come to an end today, Monday 1st March.

LAUNCHED ON Thanksgiving Day 2020, Giving Thanks is a new campaign to create digital memories that bring the people of Southampton together in a shared celebration of our city and our communities. It is delivered as part of the on-going city-wide Mayflower 400 programme and aims to not just mark the anniversary, but to bring people together as best we can in these days of social isolation, through generating an understanding of difference and encouraging an attitude of gratitude.

A SOUTHAMPTON man who is housebound due to the current pandemic is being helped to rediscover his love of art thanks to a befriending scheme run by a Love Southampton partner in the city (December2020).

A fund to support people at risk of homelessness has been relaunched on the 10th anniversary of World Homeless Day. The aim of this global day is to draw attention to homeless people’s needs locally and provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness, while taking advantage of the stage an ‘international day’ provides.

A Love Southampton partner charity working towards eradicating loneliness and isolation has launched a new telephone service with Social Care in Action (SCiA) and Southampton University to help support the city’s vulnerable (October 2020).
